Alicia Hartzell Awakening to Your StorySUMMER SESSION: Questions to Awaken Your Heart, Mind, and Soul.

Here is a question that will help you reflect, clarify, and celebrate your story.

Sometimes it simply takes the spark of a questions to ignite an inner flame, illuminating where you have been, where you are in this moment, and where you heart is longing to go.

Ask yourself, ask your friends, your partner, your children, or ask a stranger this week’s question, and watch the miracles unfold before you!

This week’s question is:

What Makes You Feel Beautiful?

Here is the tricky thing about beauty, unless things line up in a particular way in your mind, limiting beliefs will hijack your thoughts about your beauty.  Limiting beliefs trick you into shrugging off questions like this. They divert your attention onto someone else and then immediately point out what they perceive as flaws in comparison. Your limiting beliefs want you to play small, and to fit into the box of other people’s design and judgment.

DON’T FALL FOR IT!

Stop comparing yourself to other, and start looking inward to define beauty for yourself.  Because here is the thing, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.  Your heart and your soul shine with a light that is completely unique to you.  Your body is a vessel for that light. Your beauty flows from Awakening to Your Storyyour soul outward. So while your hair may make you feel beautiful, it is simply and external element that plugs you into the light of your soul.  That new pair of shoe or lipstick, getting dressed up, singing in the shower, being kind to someone or whatever it is that makes you feel beautiful, it is simply an external element that allows you to embrace your beauty.

Take all judgment on which external factors plug you into the feeling of beauty, out of the equation.  It’s not about getting lost in the external factors, it’s about embracing it as part of what your soul wove into your humanity.  It is ok for you to feel beautiful, no matter what your limiting beliefs try to tell you.  Those voices in your head that are already making excuses for why you are not beautiful, those voices have never been nor will they ever be, essential to you.  They are hand-me-downs from other people, and they are built in fear, shame, comparisons, and lies.   You are beautiful in this moment, no matter what you look like or feel like.  Your beauty is ready to be plugged into whenever you are ready to own it.

When you fortify your truth by spending more time in it, you weaken the limiting beliefs that hold you back. Curiosity is fear and limiting beliefs nemesis.  Remember, when you active your curiosity limiting beliefs have a harder time fooling you. Questions like this fuel curiosity and illuminate your truth!

A Few Things To Deepen Your Experience With This Week’s Question

  1. Don’t Stop At One Answer:
Take the larger macro scape question; “What makes you feel beautiful?” and make it’s focus more micro in scope; “What makes me feel beautiful right now?”  Shifting the question like this helps you see that your truth is not just a one off experience.
  2. My Favorite Thing About Beauty:
It’s within you and all around you 24/7. Even if you are too busy or are blinded by limiting beliefs to see it, it is there waiting to be noticed and embraced.  When you start to notice it externally you open the gates to begin to notice it internally!
  3. Use The Question to Stay Plugged Into Your Truth:
Keep this week’s question stoking the fire of inner curiosity, and let it help you stay plugged into your truth.  A few of the “I AM Essential Truths” that work really well with this week’s question are: I AM VIBRANT, I AM AGELESS, I AM UNIQUE and I AM HAPPY.  Read the post, listen to the podcast, or watch the Awakening to Your Story TV episode and plug back into your truth by clicking on the images. These really tickle your soul and spark a connection with that inner light, and will help you plug into that inner truth of beauty.

My Answer To This Week’s Question Goes Like This…

I feel beautiful when I am using my gifts to help people.  Those moments when I am teaching and holding space for people to learn I feel radiant. I even feel that way when I am sitting at my computer writing.  Sometimes it’s like a movie in my mind playing out, but in real time with IMG_5361lights and music and the whole 9 yards.  The voices in my head may try to twist it around and convince me otherwise.  They may tell me no one is watching, listening or learning from me, that I am in the shadows of other people.  But my essential truth helps me know better.  I look around and see the light, the beauty and can feel the alignment in my soul.  It’s more about creating and being within myself and when I do that, all the other parts work out.

My micro response is that I felt really beautiful this week when I got all dressed up to go to the opera. It is ok to look in the mirror or look back on a photo from that night, and see yourself as beautiful!  Really, try it on and see how it fits!

Keep in mind there are no wrong answers! Try not to let the limiting voices in your head judge your responses for you.  Just stay open and curious.

Tell me your answer to this week’s question. I can’t wait to hear what comes up for you! Remember I am always here to teach, support, and inspire you with heart-centered solutions for your everyday problems.
xoxo- Alicia
