When Was The Last Time You Felt In Awe Of Something
SUMMER SESSION: Questions to Awaken Your Heart, Mind, and Soul.
Here is a question that will help you reflect, clarify, and celebrate your story.
Sometimes it simply takes the spark of a questions to ignite an inner flame, illuminating where you have been, where you are in this moment, and where you heart is longing to go.
Ask yourself, ask your friends, your partner, your children, or ask a stranger this week’s question, and watch the miracles unfold before you!
This week’s question is:
When Was The Last Time You Felt In Awe Of Something? What Was It?
I cannot wait to hear your responses to this question! This space of awe and wonder is contagious. When you share these moments with others, they can transport them right into that space with you. It opens the door to so many things that are possible, connected, miraculous, and well all the good adjective to describe things. When you catch yourself in awe of something, it means that you have moved beyond survival enough to step into consciousness. It holds your heart and mind in alignment for that moment in time.
It is so easy for us to ignore the magic and wonder that this life offers. We all have to-do-lists that never end and things pulling our attention or focus in a million different directions. But we also all have the potential to be in complete harmony with the world around us. We all can bear witness to things that have the power to make everything else get quiet in comparison.
Perspective and attention are key. What you focus on, multiplies. When you create attention and space to feel in awe, you invite more of that wonder into your life. Witnessing wonder and being in awe of things have an array of followed responses. It may make you think; how is that possible, this makes me feel so small, I am completely connected, that is so beautiful, I can’t believe it, and so on and so on. No matter what the response, it tickles your heart and soul in some perfectly magical way. Who doesn’t want more of that?
A Few Things To Deepen Your Experience With This Week’s Question
- Don’t Stop At One Answer:
Take the larger macro scape questions; “When was the last time you were in awe of something and what was it?” and make its focus more micro in scope; “What were you in awe of today?” Shifting the question like this helps you see that your truth is not just a one off experience. - My Favorite Thing About Being In Awe Of Something:
My favorite thing about being in awe of something is the power it has to make you completely present. It silences all the chatter and set’s you in harmony with that particular moment in time. - Use The Question to Stay Plugged Into Your Truth:
Keep this week’s question stoking the fire of inner curiosity and let it help you stay plugged into your truth. A couple of the “I AM Essential Truths” that work really well with this week’s question are: I AM CONSCIOUS, and I AM CONNECTED.
My Answer To This Week’s Question Goes Like This…
The last time I felt in awe was today. It happened a couple of time actually. I was in my patio garden today watering all my sweet little plants, and it felt like someone was watching me. I was checking the leaves on one of my trees to make sure there weren’t any bugs, and as I am rubbing by fingers against the leave, something bright green catches my eye. It was the most incredible looking spider just sitting on one of the branches. We locked eyes and I just stood there in awe of him. He was so beautiful. He was small with the most intricate details. You could see every little hair on his body. I couldn’t help but think how incredible nature and creation are. And I could have missed him, missed witness his existence and the awe and beauty it offered me.
The second awe inspired experience happened on a hike with a friend. We went out at sunset and it was like someone through a glitter bomb of awe and wonder on the whole hike. This is what I mean my contagious. I saw the spider that morning at it set my attention on the miracles and magic in everyday life. On the hike we came across wild peacocks, awe and wonder sparked listing to their call and watching them move through nature.
As we were walking on the trail these beautiful wild daisies were growing right out of the pavement. Literally breaking through the asphalt up into the sunlight and ocean breeze. It made me think of all the seemingly impossible things that just happen. If a wild seed can push through something that hard and rise up and grow into the light, anything is possible. Awe Inspiring!
Then as we made it to the top of the hill and looked out over the ocean and town I live in. The sun cast its golden light all over it, igniting awe and wonder in my heart. I am such a very small piece of this vast existence. I just stood there taking in all the wonder into my soul with gratitude. There are always so many things that are right in a given moment, it is up to you to notice them.
Now my micro response for this week’s question is that I want to ask to be awe inspired by something everyday. Then I am going to set my attention to it, and reflect on it when it finds me. Who is with me on the quest this week?
I can’t wait to hear about what inspires you. Remember, there are no wrong answers and no judgment, just curiosity and enthusiasm that you showed up and that you were willing to take the time to notice what makes your heart feel in awe.
Please share the moment when you felt in awe of something with me. I want to hear about the big ones and the smaller daily ones too. Write them in the comments on the blog and social media, or reply to the weekly email is you want to keep them more private.
Remember I am always here to teach, support, and inspire you with heart-centered solutions for your everyday problems.
