Dear Alicia –
I have had some emotional fatigue and basic stress around work lately. People really suck sometimes. There are a few issues; being over worked, lack of organization, co- workers who don’t care enough to do a good job and the costumers have their own set of challenges. Sometimes it gets so frustrating.
I really do love my boss, but even she can drive me insane because she doesn’t do anything for herself. Everyone always says don’t take it personally.
How do I not take it personally when the fatigue and stress are very personal?
My Answer For You:
It can be hard not to take things personally when the challenging situations and frustration feel like they are stacking up against you. Whether you are dealing with it at work, at home, or while you are out in the world, once emotional fatigue sets in, it feels like everything is working against you. When you go to reach for the saying, “Don’t take it personally,” it doesn’t relieve what you heart is feeling.
